Pico laser technology
Shaperz uses a picosecond laser for tattoo removal.
Pricing at consultation
Tattoo size, color, layering, placement and treatment goal affect the plan, so pricing is provided after assessment.
Melanin-aware planning
All Shaperz lasers are suited to higher Fitzpatrick skin types, with test spots used for Fitzpatrick IV to VI.
Who tattoo removal is for
Some clients want an old tattoo gone. Others want enough fading for an artist to create a cover-up. The endpoint changes the treatment plan, and so do ink color, depth, age, layering and placement.
A consultation helps establish a realistic goal before treatment begins. Complete clearance cannot be guaranteed. The recorded estimate is a planning tool, not a promise, because every tattoo and immune response behaves differently.
- Fading before a cover-up
- Working toward clearance
- Addressing a small tattoo or a larger multi-color design
How the Pico laser works
The picosecond laser delivers energy in very short pulses to target tattoo pigment. The body then processes disrupted pigment over time. Treatment is spaced because the skin needs to recover and the clearing process continues between visits.
Shaperz uses a picosecond, or Pico, laser for tattoo removal. The important facts for your consultation are the provider's assessment, settings selected for your skin and tattoo and the response observed after each session.
- Short laser pulses target tattoo pigment
- The body clears disrupted pigment gradually
- Progress is evaluated over a series rather than one visit
Your consultation and test spot
The team examines the tattoo and discusses whether your goal is fading or clearance. They consider size, ink colors, layering, age, location, scarring and previous removal attempts. Pricing varies by tattoo and is given at consultation.
All Shaperz lasers are suited to higher Fitzpatrick skin types and melanin-rich skin. Fitzpatrick IV to VI clients receive a test spot at least 48 hours before the first full session. A test spot adds information about how your skin responds, but it cannot remove every risk.
- Fitzpatrick skin typing
- Tattoo measurement and recorded session estimate
- Test spot at least 48 hours ahead for Fitzpatrick IV to VI
- Consultation-based pricing
What a treatment series looks like
Tattoo removal takes time. Existing package information notes that 8 to 12 sessions is typical, with sessions spaced a minimum of 8 weeks apart. Your tattoo may need fewer or more visits, and longer intervals can sometimes support clearing.
The Fade for Cover-Up package includes three sessions. A four-session block and an eight-session Clearance Plan are also available. These are prepaid packages for a defined number of sessions, not a guaranteed result. See the package page for use periods, continuation rates and full terms.
- Fade for Cover-Up: 3 sessions
- Block of 4 Sessions
- Clearance Plan: 8 sessions
- Minimum spacing of 8 weeks
Preparation and aftercare
Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner on the tattoo for four weeks before a session. Shave the area and arrive hydrated. Tell the team about new medications, pregnancy, nursing, infection, recent isotretinoin or recent injectable treatment in the area.
Frosting and blistering can occur after treatment. Keep the site covered as directed and do not pick. Existing package guidance calls for sun protection for three months after each session and avoiding swimming or hot tubs for two weeks. Follow the instructions given for your specific treatment.
- No sun or self-tanner on the area for four weeks before
- Shave the area and arrive hydrated
- Keep the site protected and do not pick
- Use sun protection as directed after treatment
Safety for melanin-rich skin
Melanin-rich skin needs thoughtful device selection, settings and spacing. All Shaperz lasers are suited to higher Fitzpatrick skin types, but pigment changes, burns, scarring and incomplete clearance remain possible risks.
Your provider may recommend slower progress, longer spacing or stopping treatment if the skin response makes continued treatment unsafe. The goal is not to rush the tattoo at the expense of the skin around it.
- Conservative settings when appropriate
- Test spots for Fitzpatrick IV to VI
- Ongoing assessment before each session
