Booking and first visit
Explore ConsultationsDo I have to be ready for treatment to book a consultation?
No. A consultation is a chance to ask questions and learn about your options. There is no obligation to receive treatment.
What is the consultation policy?
A complimentary phone consultation is available for every service. In-office consultations are $50 and that fee is applied to your treatment cost when treatment is completed within one month of your assessment. For injectables, we recommend an in-office assessment for the most accurate estimate of the treatment you will need.
Pricing, deposits and financing
Explore Payment plansWhat payment plans are available?
Payment plans available through Cherry and CareCredit.
Is a deposit required to hold an appointment?
Yes. Every appointment is held with a deposit equal to 15% of the appointment price.
What is the cancellation policy?
Every appointment is held with a deposit equal to 15% of the appointment price. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice will be charged a flat $50 fee.
Can I use insurance for my labs?
Yes. If you use insurance, HealthLab, Inc., an affiliate of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, bills your insurance directly for the testing, and Shaperz charges a separate $25 convenience fee for the in-office blood draw. Results are viewable through the MyNM patient portal, powered by MyChart. A separate medical consultation is required to review your results.
Weight loss
Explore Medical weight lossWhat GLP-1 medications do you offer?
We offer both brand-name and compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for individual patients and are not FDA-approved. Your provider will walk you through both options, including cost, so you can choose what fits you.
Do I need labs before starting weight loss medication?
Labs are evaluated case by case by our nurse practitioner. If you have recent labs on file, those may suffice, if not, we can complete your labs in-house at our Chicagoland office and labs can be billed through your insurance.
Is medical weight loss safe?
GLP-1 medications are well studied and are safest when prescribed and monitored by a licensed provider. At Shaperz Wellness your program is managed by a nurse practitioner with Full Practice Authority and over 29 years of clinical experience, with screening, dosing oversight and follow-up built in.
Hormone therapy
Explore Hormone therapyHow much does women's hormone care cost?
The Balance Protocol is $150 to $200 per month with no long-term commitment. Initial women's hormone labs are $175 and follow-up labs are $100.
How do I know if my hormones are off?
Common signs include persistent fatigue, poor sleep, weight gain around the middle, low libido, brain fog and mood changes. The only way to know for sure is testing. Shaperz Wellness runs comprehensive panels in our Chicagoland office and reviews them with you line by line.
What is the difference between bioidentical and synthetic hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the hormones your body produces, which allows precise, individualized dosing. Synthetic versions are similar but not identical. We use bioidentical therapy so treatment can be matched closely to your labs and symptoms.
Injectables and fillers
Explore Skin and aestheticsWhat is the difference between Xeomin, Jeuveau and Botox?
All three are neuromodulators used to soften expression lines. Shaperz offers Botox, Xeomin and Jeuveau. Your provider will recommend an option after reviewing your goals, treatment history and facial movement.
Will aesthetic treatment change the way I look?
Our approach begins with your goals and favors natural-looking results. Your provider will discuss what a treatment can realistically do before you decide whether to proceed.
What is Black Girl Tox?
Black Girl Tox is an initiative that centers Black women in conversations about aesthetic care. It focuses on education, personal choice, and natural-looking results.
Is laser hair removal safe for dark skin?
It can be done safely on dark skin with the right device and settings, but no laser treatment is risk-free. We use a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser, which is designed to be gentler on skin with more pigment, and we always test first before your first full session.
Could it make my underarms darker?
Darkening or lightening of the skin is a possible side effect. If you already have discoloration, tell us at your consultation so we can check the area and talk about realistic goals.
Will it help my ingrown hairs?
Less hair usually means fewer razor bumps and ingrown hairs. We'll look at the area and tell you what laser can realistically do for you.
Is it permanent?
It's hair reduction, not permanent removal. Most people see lasting reduction after a full series, and some need maintenance sessions. If you finish your series on schedule, maintenance sessions are half price for 12 months.
Can you treat gray, blonde or red hair?
No. The laser needs pigment in the hair to work, so light hair won't respond. We'll tell you at your consultation if an area isn't a good fit.
Body contouring
Explore Body contouringDoes non-surgical body contouring actually work?
Yes, with realistic expectations. Treatments like LipoDissolve, cavitation and RF tightening reduce stubborn pockets of fat and firm skin gradually over a series of sessions. They are not a substitute for weight loss, which is why many of our patients pair contouring with our medical weight loss program.
How many body contouring sessions will I need?
Most treatment plans run six to ten sessions depending on the area and your goals. We map out your full plan and pricing at your consultation so there are no surprises.
Is body contouring painful?
Radiofrequency skin tightening and Elite Sculpt are generally comfortable, with most patients feeling warmth or muscle contractions. LipoDissolve involves small injections and mild soreness afterward, similar to a workout, that resolves within a few days.
Post-surgical lymphatic care
Explore Post-cosmetic surgery careCan I have sutures removed if my surgery was performed somewhere else or outside the country?
Yes, patients whose procedures were performed locally, in another state, or internationally may be evaluated here. We may request your operative report and your surgeon's instructions so that removal is done on the right timeline. Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee that removal will be performed at that visit; the decision is made after the incision is examined.
When can a surgical drain be removed?
Timing depends on the type of procedure, your surgeon's instructions, the amount and character of the drainage, your healing progress, and the clinical examination. There is no universal number of days or drainage amount that applies to everyone. Please do not remove a drain yourself.
Does every seroma need aspiration?
No. Not every suspected seroma requires aspiration. Management depends on factors such as size, location, symptoms, healing progress, whether it has recurred, concerns about infection, and the clinical findings at your visit.
Can Shaperz replace my surgeon's postoperative care?
No. Shaperz may provide local evaluation and selected services, but it does not replace your operating surgeon or the follow-up plan your surgeon requires. Please continue to communicate with your surgeon throughout your recovery.
